It is wonderful for recycling old clothes to make chunky, luxurious rugs or you can work on a finer loom and create more delicate work using wools.     I am delighted to welcome Sarah Lloyd to the barn to teach this two day workshop. Sarah is a fantastic embroiderer and a great teacher. If you have previously been on the beginners embroidery workshop then this is going to be a brilliant follow on workshop. On this two day workshop you will learn how to use hand stitching to add texture and three dimensional elements to your creative work. Covering both drawn thread techniques and variations on some traditional stitches, you will explore ways to develop your hand stitching skills. Samples will be worked on linen using cotton perlé and stranded thread. If you would like to bring your own stand and frame we are happy for you to do so although all equipment for the workshop will be provided. As this workshop will involve detailed work and manipulation of threads please remember to bring your reading glasses and any additional magnification that you may require!! Learn More

    I am delighted to welcome Juliet Ferry from Hand and Lock to the barn to teach Tambour Beading. Hand and Lock are expert practitioners of this embroidery technique popular on international catwalks and seen in shows by designers such as Elie Saab and Oscar De La Renta. Tambour beading also known as Lunéville or Crochet de Lunéville is a French Haute Couture technique where beads or sequins can be attached to a fabric. The embroidery is done with a special hook working through a fabric stretched tight as a drum. Over the two days, you will learn how to create a design, set up a full size frame and find out how to work the hook through the fabric without catching and then go on to learn technique.
