Covering both drawn thread techniques and variations on some traditional stitches, you will explore ways to develop your hand stitching skills. On this workshop you will learn a host of quilting techniques - traditional and contemporary piecing of fabrics, hand quilting, machine quilting, raised quilting and finishing. Shibori is the Japanese art of resist dying using binding, folding, stitching and twisting to create beautiful fabrics. Kanoko shibori is what we would term as tie-dye but the Japanese developed many many more techniques to create incredibly beautiful patterns.
